DID BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO DIED LIKE
JUDAS ISCARIOT?
AN article in the blog titled
“The Splendor of the Church” administered by a Catholic priest, Abe arganiosa, posted
an article titled “Felix Manalo Died Like Judas Iscariot”. This article shows
how desperate the Catholic Defenders in refuting the biblical fact that Brother
Felix Y. Manalo is indeed God’s messenger in these last days.
Comparing the death of Brother
Felix Y. Manalo with Judas Iscariot, their argument goes like this: “Felix
Manalo died like Judas, and the latter was a traitor and an evil man, thus
Felix Manalo is also a traitor and an evil man like Judas.”
THE ARGUMENT IS INDEED FALLACIOUS
FOR TWO REASONS:
(1) IT’S A “NON-SEQUITOR” (“IT
DOESN’T FOLLOW”). The coincidence or the similarity of the death of a certain
person to the death of an evil man, a traitor or a criminal, doesn’t make that person
also an evil man, a traitor or a criminal.
Many criminals died of sickness,
does that make a person that died of sickness also a criminal? There are traitors
that died of old age, does that make a person died of old age a traitor?
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself
died the same manner as the two criminals at His left side and right side –
they were also crucified like the Lord Jesus. Does that make Him also a
criminal?
(2) THE CATHOLIC EFENDERS ARE
LYING IN SAYING THAT BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO DIED LIKE JUDAS ISCARIOT.”
Yes, the Catholic Defenders are
lying in claiming that Brother Felix Y. Manalo died like Judas Iscariot.
(a) Catholic Defenders admit that
Brother Felix Y. Manalo died of “INTESTINAL PROBLEM”:
“A friend shared to me this e-mail coming from an
anonymous Catholic apologist who sent us the materials against Felix Manalo
which I posted earlier. Now he is saying that Manalo died like Judas the
Traitor as narrated in the Acts of the Apostles. Actually, I already heard this
accusation against Manalo but I lost the documentation from the Pasugo. Now
this brother gave us the date of the Pasugo. This is confirmed by the Wikipedia
that indeed the self-proclaimed ‘angel’ DIED OF INTESTINAL PROBLEM — POOR ANGEL!”
(from the Splendor Of The Church blog, emphasis mine)
IF BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO DIED
OF INTESTINAL PROBLEM AS ADMITTED BY CATHOLIC DEFENDERS, DOES THAT MEAN THAT JUDAS
ALSO DIED OF “INTESTINAL PROBLEM”? We know that Judas did not.
(b) The Wikipedia that the
Catholic Defenders quoted says that Brother Felix Y. Manalo died of “INTESTINAL
DISEASE”:
“Manalo was married to Tomasa Sereneo, with whom he
had a child who died in infancy. Tomasa herself was afflicted with tuberculosis and
died as well. He later married Honorata de Guzman, a fellow former Adventist.
Their fifth child, EraƱo G. Manalo, is now the present Executive Minister
of the Iglesia ni Cristo, while his grandsonEduardo is
deputy Executive Minister. Felix Manalo was afflicted with an intestinal disease and
died on April 12, 1963.” (From Wikipedia as quoted by The Splendor of
the Church blog)
Brother Felix Y. Manalo died of “intestinal
disease”. DID JUDAS ALSO DIED OF “INTESTINAL DISEASE”? Judas committed suicide.
(c) Comparing the statement of
PASUGO with Acts 1:18 reveals that Brother Felix Y. Manalo did not died like
Judas:
The “Splendor of the Church” blog
quoted the statement written in the May-June 1986 issue of the PASUGO Magazine
(the official magazine of the Iglesia Ni Cristo). This is what they quoted:
“It was only after many years later, in February
1963, that Manalo fell gravely ill. He was rushed to St. Lukes hospital in
Quezon City where doctors decided to remove immediately “an intestinal
obstruction”. Manalo rejected the surgery, saying, “Doctors can cure only those
who are not yet to die, not those whose time has come.” By March 21, 1963, his
incapacitation was total and he was transferred to Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Doctors operated on him but failed to give him relief from pain.
“On April 2, the doctors worked on Manalo again to
sew back part of his intestines which had burst and hemorrhaged. On April 11,
they performed a third surgery on him. It proved to be the last.
“The following day, April 12, 1963, at 2:35 oclock in
the morning, the brilliant, tireless and courageous Filipino religious leader
who had brought the Iglesia ni Cristo to great heights of glory and
prominence, breathed his last. He was 77 years old. It was his 49thyear as
chief steward of the Church.”
The Catrholic Defenders even underlined
the words “On April 2, the doctors worked on Manalo again to sew back part of
his intestines which had burst and hemorrhaged. On April 11, they performed a
third surgery on him. It proved to be the last.”
Now let us compare how Judas died
as narrated by the Bible. This is what Acts 1:18 says as rendered by the Catholic
English Bible called Douay-Rheims:
Acts 1:18
Douay-Rheims
And he indeed
hath possessed a field of the reward of iniquity, and being hanged, burst
asunder in the midst: and all his bowels gushed out.
This Catholic English Bible said that Judas “burst asunder
in the midst: and all his bowels gushed out.” What does it mean that Judas
burst asunder in the midst”? What the Douay-Rheims said that Judas “burst asunder
in the midst”, explained by the New King James Version:
Acts 1:18 NKJV
“(Now this man
purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst
open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.”
New King James Version said that Judas “burst open in the
middle.” How did Judas “burst open in the middle”?
Acts 1:18 NIV
“(With the
reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong,
his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.”
New International Version said, “his body burst open.” The
version called The Message explains this:
Acts 1:18-19
The Message
"As you
know, he took the evil bribe money and bought a small farm. There he came to a
bad end, rupturing his belly and spilling his guts. 1
Thus, how did Judas died? He committed suicide, hanging
himself, but he fell headfast and his belly burst open and his intestine
spilled out. WHAT BURST WAS JUDAS’ BELLY BECAUSE HE FELL TO THE GROUND WHEN HE
HANGED HIMSELF, AND HIS INTESTINE SPILLED OUT.
However, how did Brother Felix Manalo died? He died of
intestinal problem – there was an “intestinal obstruction” until his intestine
burst and hemorrhaged, thus on April 11, the doctors performed a third surgery
on him, but It proved to be the last.
HERE, IT IS CLEAR THAT CATHOLIC DEFENDERS LIED ON SAYING
THAT BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO DIED LIKE JUDAS ISCARIOT.
